Lexie’s Spring Bling Favorites

I love seeing what the latest trends are… even if it’s male rompers (I still don’t know what to think about it).

Pale pastels, big faced watches, and nude colors seem to be trending for spring/summer 2017 and I love it! However, you don’t always need to follow trends. Remember, trends fade and sometimes they come back years later. Because of that, while I’ll try out a trend, I usually just wear whatever I like, regardless of how “in style” it is. Some things still look good even though not everyone is wearing it these days.

When it comes to jewelry, I couldn’t care less if it is still “in style” or not. If I see a piece I like and it goes with out my outfit, I will wear it!

That said, here are some of my must-have jewelry pieces for this season!

  • Statement necklaces

What I love about statement necklaces is that you can easily wear them with or without a patterned top and regardless if the neckline is super high or more of a scoop neck. They also come in a variety of styles: long and short, colorful and just one color, sparkly and plain, and so many shapes! I know one huge trend is to wear them with a plaid or polka dot top. My first statement necklace was the pink one on the left. After that, I was obsessed. The ones on the left and right were gifts, while the middle ones I purchased from Plato’s Closet.

As much as I love big, chunky necklaces, I also appreciate smaller ones. These have to be worn a bit more strategically and I recommend wearing these with a scoop neck top so that it can actually be seen. These should also be worn with a very light, feminine outfit so that the necklace isn’t overpowered by the outfit you are wearing. So for example, wearing it with blush tones would be a great idea, but no wild patterns. All of these were gifts!

Everyone loves the Alex and Ani Bracelets and so do I. But I also love these bracelets my aunt got me from Loft (one of my favorite stores). What I love about these is that they go with most spring and summer outfits! I can wear them to work or on a day out in town! I also love how the set includes one bracelet without the large bead on it. Beaded bracelets will never get old for me!

Can you tell I love accessories that make a statement? 😉

I have gathered these over the past ten years. The turquoise earrings were a gift, the floral ones I believe were from Mandee, and the chandelier ones were from Lia Sophia! In the summer, I definitely need to pull my long hair back in a ponytail, providing me a great excuse to wear one of these babies. Whenever I wear one of these, I don’t even need a necklace because wearing them created a whole different focal point for my outfit. If you’re a fan of statement earrings too, just be careful that they are not too heavy and damage your earlobe. I’ve been there…not fun.

Wearing these allows you to be bold with your outfit without the common statement necklace. The floral and chandelier ones are a bit tougher to wear since I tend to stick with a pattern-less outfit. However, I can wear the turquoise ones with many different things!
