Fall DIY: Potpourri

I always grew up with potpourri around the house. Only recently did I realize how easy it is to actually make.

I decided to give it a shot! Potpourri is the original link that I found through Pinterest.

Here are some photos. There are only a few since it’s pretty simple.

Unfortunately, I didn’t take a picture of the flowers before I cut them up.

Following the instructions, I basically cut the flowers off from their stems, let them dry, and then placed them on a pan with parchment paper. I let them dry for a few days and put them in the oven. To be honest, you only need maybe a day for them to dry, but due to my schedule, and being lazy, I didn’t put them in the oven until a week after I let them dry.

Before putting them in the oven, I sprinkled a little essential oil on them. Lesson learned, a brand new bottle is going to smell, a lot. If you can, do this step outside because my house smelled like lavender for a while. I mean, everything I touched smelled like lavender. The food I was eating tasted like lavender.

After you do this, put them in the oven for 1.5 hours. Once you take them out, you can let them cool and then put them in a dish.

Ta-da! Nice and simple.

XO!
