My Skincare Secrets to Get Rid of Acne

I admit, I am lucky. I had the worst acne in middle school and high school and it’s no longer terrible. However, I do still get acne. I wish I had a magic wand, however, I do have the next best thing…or…should I say things.

These things have been helping me already this year. I break out easily from stress, and even though it stinks, I have nothing to fear anymore, now that I have my secret weapons.

Be advised that not only will individual results vary, but not every skin care system is right for everyone. Make sure you ask your dermatologist is something is right for you to use.

I used Proactiv back in my high school days and I have to say, if you use it consistently, it works pretty well. Personally, I don’t think it needs to be used twice per day but, use it at least once. Remember too that a little goes a long way, but don’t be afraid to be generous with the face lotion. It can dry out your skin just a wee bit. Overall…love it!

Black Mask

If you are weird like me, then you totally dig two things: pimple popping and watching gunk come out of pores. Gross? Yes. Satisfying? Even more yes.

I’ve seen people rave about the Black Mask and I needed to jump on the bandwagon. Normally I don’t like to be trendy just to be trendy, but this one seemed necessary. I am glad I did!

When using this, don’t be afraid to make it a thick layer, but not too think that it takes forever to dry. However, having a thin layer can make it more difficult to peel off. Technically you can wash it off, but where’s the fun in that?! Apply, dry, peel, and moisturize!

“The Welding Mask”

Okay, so it’s not actually a welding mask, but that’s what I have decided to call this light mask from Neutrogena. I’m sure you can see why.

Normally, I’m not thrilled about using light directly on my face, but this thing is actually very safe. It does 10 minute sessions and targets deep into the pores to reduce the size of them. Note that it shouldn’t be used on skin with no acne or severe acne. Skin right in the middle is fine.

Also, you will get made fun of for using it, so use it with pride 🙂
